Prémoulé cares about the environment. Our policy affirms clearly the importance that we place on finding a balance between meeting our economical objectives and preserving our natural habitat and its ecosystems for future generations.

 

AIR QUALITY

Prémoulé works jointly with its partners and suppliers to meet environmental norms.

 

Prémoulé now offers to all its clients, if requested, products made of MDF or particle panels that meet the new environmental norms established by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), norms that are among the strictest in the world.

 

CARB works actively to maintain air quality, protect the public against airborne toxic pollutants et promote innovative approaches to meet air quality regulation. Technically, Prémoulé uses composite panels that emit no more and often lower than 0.21ppm of urea-formaldehyde emissions.

 

Air quality in our manufacturing plants has been improved with recent investments aimed at protecting our workers’ health and giving them a healthier work environment.

 

ORIGIN

Starting in January 2009, Prémoulé will be able to track its composite panels from origin to destination. Upon request, we offer more environmentally-friendly products.

 

FOREST AND PAPER

Similarly, Prémoulé works to reduce paper usage to its minimum and to increase personnel awareness regarding in-house printing waste, actions which in return contributes to our forests and trees preservation.

 

For our literature, Prémoulé sources papers that contain de-inked post-consumer waste fibers in the largest proportion and encourages papers made of recycled pre-consumer fibers or fibers not originating from virgin wood. Prémoulé also specifies vegetable-based inks whenever possible.

 

In the rare instances when we have to use virgin-wood fiber paper, we favor fibers coming from sustainably-managed forests certified by a recognized agency.

 

WASTE RECYCLING

Aware of its social responsibility, Prémoulé prioritizes recycling and controlling waste by recycling the majority of its production scraps such as MDF, particle, thermoplastic vinyl, metal and paper.  None of these products are sent to disposal plants.
