Prémoulé is the heir to a long tradition of family-owned woodworking and construction businesses in Quebec City since 1905. For the last century, the Deslauriers family has shaped Quebec City by its important constructions that still make the city landscape. Of its modest beginning, Prémoulé has become the leader in the manufacturing of doors, countertops and components today.

 

1968

Prémoulé founding
The company has one employee who carries out the daily production of seven or eight units of laminated plastic countertops.

 

 

1975

The company has now 8 employees.
Prémoulé knows how to take advantage of the growing popularity of plastic-molded countertops. Wise business choices, sales figures and staff continuously growing mark Prémoulé’s development.

 

 

1980

Prémoulé multiplies bold initiatives and builds a distribution network.
Prémoulé supports the creation of companies specialized in custom countertop cutting and countertop sales.

 

 

1982

Prémoulé adds to its product line postformed countertops, furniture components, and postformed doors.

 

 

1991

During a tradeshow in Germany, Prémoulé discovers a new product : a cabinet door made of MDF covered with a thermoplastic film.  Sensing a good business opportunity, the company invests in a laminating press.  Thermo door production increases astoundingly and allows the company to expand its complementary product line : moldings, light valences, wine racks, appliances panels, etc.

 

 

2000

Prémoulé becomes one of the owners of Delorie Countertops & Doors in Pompano Beach, Florida.

 

 

2001

Prémoulé opens a second manufacturing plant for thermoplastic doors in Hawkesbury, Ontario.

 

 

2004

Prémoulé becomes one of the owner of Centre du comptoir Sag-Lac in Alma, Québec.

 

 

2005

Prémoulé becomes the owner of Royal Excellence Doors, makers of solid wood doors, in Prince-Edward Island.

 

 

2006

Prémoulé buys Ouellet Doors and Mouldings in Baie-Comeau, another solid wood doors business.
